LEAVE DAD ALONE DAYSunday, June 17 is Father’s Day and the Campagnolo, Campagnolo ROMA and Fat Dragon Bar-B-Q family of restaurants encourage guests to give dad a break – leave him at home and dine without him. All three restaurants will give 50% off take-out orders to families who dine-in without dad and take something to-go for him following their meal. When posed with the question, “what do you want for Father’s Day?”, the answer was unanimous (amongst dad’s who work at these restaurants) – “a day off with no obligations and no responsibility.”
For dads who would prefer the company of their family, some special dishes and deals are available for dine-in at each restaurant.

Your article hit the nail on the head. I speak from experience since I am a father, I like nothing more than to sit back and do what ever I want to do for the day. AHHH sounds good to me. This weekend I going golfing with a few of my friends, leave tomorrow come back Sunday cant wait.

This is a very unique idea for a Father’s Day gift, and I can see how many dad’s (and mom’s!) just want a full day of uninterrupted peace and quiet. This is also a great way of promoting the Campagnolo and Fat Dragon BBQ restaurants around Father’s Day, since they are providing their own unique spin on the day. As long as dad’s won’t feel abandoned by their families 😉 why not leave them alone at home to have a beer in peace and relax in a chair?!
I also read an article from Inside Vancouver, which listed the top 10 thing to do in Vancouver on Father’s Day. Some of the suggestions included “Buy Dad a Beer”, “Take Dad Fishing”, and “Take Dad to Brunch” – they forgot to include “Leave Dad Alone!” =)

Hi Julia, Great post and so fitting to be reading it on Fathers Day;) I had the luxury of testing your theory today and found it to be 100% accurate. We gave my husband the option after a nice breakfast if he’d like to go out with us, to have quality alone time with his daughter or stay home and rest alone and he jumped on the idea of some alone time in between a nice breakfast and dinner….. We didn’t feel bad and he got some much needed rest. Thanks for bringing attention to such a simple and thoughtful concept.
